Lima, with its sunny beaches, fine museums and beautiful flowered boulevards named "City of the Kings" by the Spanish conquistadors is the capital city and gateway to Peru.

LIMA CITY TOUR
(Modern and colonial Lima)

Visit Lima's principal attractions: Plaza de Armas, Government Palace, Cathedral of Santa Domingo, San Francisco Convent and beautiful garden suburbs of Miraflores and San Isidro.

Mujica Gallo Gold Museum: Famous for a priceless collection of Pre-Columbian gold.
Largo Herra Museum: Appreciate the extensive collection o Pre-Inca pottery.

LIMA/CUZCO/MACHU PICCHU

Discovered in 1911, Machu Picchu, the "Lost City of the Incas" is a beautifully preserved enormous stone city nestled on a terraced plateau, surrounded by three towering green mountain peaks, where llamas roam on the slopes.

Day 1: Arrival in Lima, meeting and transfer to hotel.
Day 2: Morning city tour of Lima, overnight hotel.
Day 3: Transfer to airport for flight to Cuzco, on arrival transfer to your hotel, morning free to adjust to the 11,200 ft altitude, afternoon city tour of Cuzco and Ollantaytambo ruins, overnight hotel.
Day 4: Transfer to train for 3 hour alpine excursion to Machu Picchu, lunch enroute, afternoon guided tour of the famous "Lost City", overnight hotel.
Day 5: Morning free to explore the ruins on your own before returning to Cuzco in the afternoon, overnight hotel.
Day 6: Transfer to airport for return flight to Lima.

PERU'S AMAZON

Day 1: Transfer from Lima hotel to airport for flight to Iquitos, after arrival transfer to dock to board the M/V Rio Amazonas, a steel-hulled river boat, carrying 44 passengers in air-conditioned comfort, sailing down river on the Amazon to Leticia, sleep aboard.
Day 2: Visit the Bora Indian village, where we see a blow-gun demonstration, later stop at Pevas, the oldest Peruvian town in the Amazon. Afternoon jungle hike through dense jungle of the Shishita river area. Night expedition by launch overnight on board.
Day 3: Morning jungle walk, followed by a Piranha fishing expedition and visit to the river village of Caballococha, overnight hotel.
Day 4: Early arrival in Leticia, transfer to airport for return to Iquitos, via floatplane. Enjoy a fabulous view of the Amazon on the return flight, transfer to airport for return flight to Lima.
Departure: Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday.
